Karin has more than 20 years experience of working within academic research and the biomedical industry. Karin has significant industrial experience of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) development. For 15 years she has held various managerial positions within the research and development of biomarkers and IVDs for the European and US clinical market. Most recently Karin served as Research and Development Director at Biovica, a company that develops and manufactures diagnostic products. Karin also brings experience from Head of R&D and product development management at CareDx and Olerup.

Following an exam in biomedical laboratory science (BMA) and a master’s degree in molecular biology from Uppsala University, Karin earned her Ph.D. in cell- and tumor biology at the Karolinska Institute.
