Rena has a background in biochemistry and metabolism, with more than 9 years of research experience working in several academic labs. She completed her PhD in exercise metabolism in cardiometabolic disease at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and also worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Texas Medical Branch, USA. Before joining the Elypta R&D team, Rena worked at the Karolinska Institute as the Project Coordinator of the SCALLOP consortium, an international research collaboration for the discovery of biomarkers that are causal in diseases. She also has clinical experience as a trained dietitian – nutritionist with a MSc in clinical nutrition from the Harokopio University of Athens, Greece.
